ABA Awareness Seminar (basics) – Applied Behavior Analysis

OVA offers a weekend of awareness of ABA and evidence-based intervention strategies to support children, adolescents with autism spectrum disorders or other pervasive developmental disorders.

It will take place Saturday 14 and Sunday 15 April 2018 at the OVA Center in Gland, Vaud (Suisse Romande).

The seminar is taught by a psychologist, BCBA Certified Behavior Analyst.

It is open to any person, parent, professional, wishing to acquire basic knowledge in ABA.

During this training weekend, participants will be able to :

  • Become familiar with the concept of autism
  • Understanding the importance of evidence-based therapies
  • Be able to define what a behavior is
  • Understand the principles of reinforcement and motivation
  • Understand the importance of communication development
  • Identify the main functions of behaviors
  • Become familiar with basic strategies for managing maladaptive behaviors in favor of socially meaningful ones
